Q: How do you determine the value of the items I send you?
A: Payment is based on weight (DWT), gold content (karat value), and the price of gold today.

Q: I paid over $300 for my necklace. Should I expect to get $300 for it from Gold Buyers at the Mall?
A: Not necessarily… Jewelry stores typically mark items up 50%-75% or more. Gold Buyers at the Mall is purchasing your gold for the “melt value” (the value of the raw materials after the items are melted at the refinery). The amount that you paid is not taken into consideration when we assess the value of your gold.

Q: I had my jewelry appraised (by my insurance company) for $500. Should I expect to get $500 for it from Gold Buyers at the Mall?
A: Not necessarily… Insurance companies appraise jewelry based on “retail replacement value.” (The cost to replace your jewelry if it becomes lost or is stolen). They do not place a value based solely on the raw materials the way our industry does.

Q: There is a stamp on my ring indicating “18K” Is this reliable?
A: Not necessarily... Although most countries require manufacturers to stamp the gold content of their jewelry, very few countries (including the U.S.) enforce these laws or require an independent third party to evaluate the item. The stamp on your jewelry may be correct, but it is quite common to receive jewelry that is fraudulently stamped.

Q: How do you determine the purity of the gold I send you?
A: When Gold Buyers at the Mall receives your items, each will be checked for a stamp indicating the karat value. Our professional testers will then follow industry standard testing methods (acid/scratch test, electronic testing, and X-ray fluorescence scan) to determine the purity of the gold items you sent in.

GENERAL QUESTIONS

Q: I requested a Free Gold Shipping Kit, when should I expect it to arrive?
A: Free Gold Shipping Kits go out the same day or the next business day, depending on when the request was received by our offices. We are at the mercy of FEDEX, however kits are typically received in roughly 3 days (please allow 7-10 days before resubmitting your request)

Q: I sent the Free Gold Shipping Kit today, when should I expect to receive payment?
A: Your items must travel back to us via FEDEX or your desired shipping method. Once we receive your kit we will process the same day or the next business day depending on the time received. Due to the ever changing flow of the mail we are currently estimating a total of 10-14 days for you to receive payment.

Q: What items (gold, jewelry, etc.) do you accept? What is not accepted?
A: Please see our “What we Buy” page for information on accepted and non-accepted items.

Q: Is my Free Gold Shipping Kit really FREE?
A: Yes! In addition the shipping and insurance are pre-paid up to $100. If you would like additional coverage please contact FEDEX prior to shipping.

Q: How will I know if/when you’ve received my items?
A: We will contact you via the email address you provided when requesting the Free Gold Shipping Kit to keep you apprised of the status of your transaction.

Q: What recourse do I have if I am not satisfied with the amount of my offer?
A: If you are not satisfied with the amount of payment offered by Gold Buyers at the Mall, please call customer service at 1-877-422-8603 and you may request the return of your items. We will send your items back via FEDEX and you should receive them within 3 days from the date of your request, no questions asked.

Q: Can I use my own packaging?
A: Absolutely! Please email mailin@premiumgoldbuyers.com for up-to-date shipping information.

Q: What about my gold jewelry that has diamonds or other gemstones? Should I remove them before sending to you, or are you able to return them to me?
A: Jewelry containing diamonds will be appraised and included in your payment. Any items with other gemstones will not be paid for. You are welcome to remove these stones before sending your items in.
